산업수학혁신센터(ICIM)에서는 스타트업과의 교류를 통하여 산업수학이 해결 가능한 문제를 발굴하고 성공사례를 공유하기 위하여 판교 산업수학혁신센터에 전문가를 초청하여 세미나를 개최합니다.

뇌과학분야의 수학적인 접근으로 다음의 내용으로 연구교류 세미나를 진행합니다.

제  목 : “Interaction of Multiple Respiratory Rhythm Generation Mechanisms”
초  록 : Neurons in the pre-Botzinger complex (pBC) within the mammalian brainstem produce the inspiratory phase of the respiratory rhythm.
Experimental results have suggested that multiple bursting mechanisms based on a calcium-activated nonspecific cationic (CAN) current,
a persistent sodium (NaP) current, and Ca dynamics may be incorporated within the pBC. Previous modeling works have studied only subsets
of these mechanisms. In this study, we consider a single-compartment model of a pBC inspiratory neuron, which encompasses all these features.

We discuss the mathematical analysis of the interaction of these bursting mechanisms, which requires treatment of a system incorporating three slow variables.

내용
Numerical algebraic geometry is a new field in applied algebraic geometry and math. Many models of the real world can be described by solutions to systems of polynomial equations. These solution sets are called varieties in algebraic geometry terminology, and we want to study using numerical computations performed on a machine. These talks focus on the theory of numerical algebraic and applications to algebraic statistics. In particular, the technique of regeneration will be presented and the maximum likelihood degree/generalized method of moments degree will be introduced. The last talk will feature applications of the Segre trace test.

국가수리과학연구소(NIMS)와 성균관대학교 빅데이터 수리해석인력양성 사업단, 제주대학교가 공동주관하는

「2016 NIMS-SKKU MDA-TDA Summer School」이

6월 24일(금)부터 7월 2일(토)까지, 제주대학교 교양강의동에서 개최됩니다.

산업수학 및 빅데이터 분석에 관심이 있는 전국 수학과 학부/대학원생을 대상으로 한 이번 여름학교는 

행렬기반데이터분석(MDA)과 위상기반데이터분석(TDA)을 중심으로 학부 3~4학년 수준의 데이터 해석과 Python, R 등의 프로그램 언어 특강, 산업체 인사 특강, 대학원생 산업체 프로젝터 수행결과 발표 등을 통하여 참여 학생들에게 빅데이터 분야의 중요성에 대한 동기부여와 산업수학 인재 육성을 목적으로 하고 있습니다.

산업수학 점화 프로그램 소속 학생은 물론 각 과의 추천을 받은 200여명의 학생중 160명을 선발하여 진행되는 이번 여름학교의 일정은 아래와 같습니다.

• This talk deals with some questions concerning the convergence of the solutions to a dynamic equation on time scale. It is also concerned with the stability domains, the spectrum of matrix pairs, the exponential stability and its robustness measure for linear implicit dynamic equations of arbitrary index.

□ 초록: Hyperrings and hyperfields are algebraic structures which generalize the classical commutative rings and fields. In this talk, we aim to introduce these rather exotic structures and illustrate many examples. We also discuss how hyperrings and hyperfields show up and fit into the classical theory, in particular, algebraic geometry and combinatorics.

 □ 제목 : Existence of weak solutions in Wasserstein space for a Keller-Segel model coupled to fluid equations

 □ 초록 : We consider a coupled system of Keller-Segel type equations and the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations which is describing the dynamics of oxygen, swimming bacteria, and viscous incompressible fluids. We show the existence of weak solutions of the system. To prove the existence result, we exploit mass transportation theory to understand the equation for the density of bacteria and we formally interpret it as a sum of two flows in the Wasserstein space. Based on this observation, we apply a sort of splitting method to solve the equation for the density of bacteria, and then we finally solve the coupled system. This is a joint work with Kyungkeun Kang.
